I See London, I See France...

Okay, I have never seen London or France. But that is about to change. At the end of April/beginning of May, I am going to Paris for about a week. Why? Because, frankly, I have the best mother-in-law in the world. I'm looking forward to spending time in establishments like this one as painted by suefurrow, reproducing a photograph she took in Paris. I love the bistro chairs and the stone walk. I can also see us walking down streets like this one in Sacré Coeur, Paris. FauveStudio has captured its relaxed ambiance in watercolor. My hope is to spend some time in a few Paris flea markets, and while I don't have unlimited funds or the ability to bring a lot home, maybe I'll make a few incredible finds like these French revival chairs by helenmillerhandcraft. On the other hand, space won't be an issue for partaking in some consumables while I am there, and this Parisian Latte oil painting by CarolSchiffStudio has already whet my appetite. Don't you want to reach in and get a dab of cream on your finger?

Finally, jennysporch has this lovely abstract painting called CHOCOLAT, created during her time in Paris. I know we plan on experiencing much chocolate, and probably French wine as well.

All of the artists featured here are members of Etsy's Design Style Guide, the interior design team. Let me know in the comments if you have any suggestions on experiences I need to have while in Paris!

Thanks for featuring my painting. You will have a great time in Paris, my daughter and I were there last April and loved it. Advise, take an umbrella! Love your post, what a great idea for a treasury! Speaking of chocolate, Paris is full of chocolate shops, my painting "Big Chocolate Fish" is from a shop there....and we all know about french pastries!

What a NICE blog and thanks for featuring my painting! I can still remember that trip. My trip was the 2nd wk. of May and the rests. had white asparagus, so maybe you will get to try it also. I know you'll go to the Louvre but make time for the Mus. de Orsay. I know you'll have a great time. Best Wishes and a safe flight!

Hi, Thankyou for including my painting on your blog.
How lucky are you, Paris is wonderful. My daughter lives there, hates flying so sends me a ticket every year to see her.
I live in Australia.

I’m going back in December.
I never have much money so I go to places that don’t cost much. but I have also been to all the touristy ones as well.
I use the Metro trains and you can buy 10 tickets for 11 Euros..

Places you might like to visit are… Vanue flee market(puce) ,heaps of antique and old jewellery and if you stay till the end, marketers throw stuff away in the bins or leave on sidewalk.
I collected a couple early 1900,s illustrated books, postcards, gorgeous little French xmas decoration and more…Mont Martre of course. A guided tour costs 25EU but would be worth it. And the Louvre is open late Wednesday nights so not as busy. Pompido was the best for Contemporary art and D,orsay Museums .

I found lots of little parks were great to stroll in and sketch with the Topiary trees and Boulie players and the Seine.
If you like the Patisseries you must try a little Strawberry cake called “Fracier”

When I go to Paris I use my time, creating small works on paper found object art. I collect the free posters, street litter, cards etc to bring back to use in my artwork.

Ha Last time I came home with 15 Kilos of the stuff just for my art…..
